As a Facebook fan myself, I was excited to learn about Facebook Chat Bots when I found them. Many friends had asked me what they could expect, so I thought I'd give it a go to see what I could learn. I've also recently become interested in Messenger Chat Bots, so I thought I'd put together a quick review to help others understand the differences and what Facebook Chat Bot software is capable of. Hopefully, by the time you have finished reading this article, you will have some idea about what a Facebook Chat Bot is, how it can benefit you and your business and whether or not it's something you should consider using yourself.
What exactly is a Facebook Messenger Bot? Simply put, a chattel bot is a Facebook application that you can purchase or use free of charge. The way that this works is that you set up your own account with chattel and then you select which bot types you want to use. You can either install the bot yourself, or you can let the chattel webinar system provide you with a custom-built bot for you to use. Either way, once you've installed a chatbot builder on your Facebook account, you are ready to start making connections!
How does it work? So far, I've only mentioned one bot that is part of the Facebook package the Facebook Chatbot. There are several others including the Facebook Sephora integration and the Facebook Hydrogen integration. You will need to sign up for these programs to use them, but once you have everything up and running, these bots can be an integral part of your social media marketing. They can automate tasks that would otherwise take your attention away from building your list, building your fan base, and getting people to engage with your content.
The first of these two bot programs, Conversational Social Ads Bot, is designed for professional use. It integrates with Hootsuite so that when you upload a video to YouTube using Hootsuite's awesome video button, the bot will pre-populate your profile page with an advertisement. When you are logged into Hootsuite, you can click on the button, and the bot will start popping up ads to fit your interests. It is very neat and very easy to set up. This particular chatbot also integrates with Hootsuite's newsreader, so you will see updates as they happen!
The second bot, the Facebook Chatbot from Phpbay, is a general-purpose bot. It has conversations with customers and provides general information on the product. It seems like it was intended to be a Facebook competitor. However, Phpbay later announced that this feature would not be available after Facebook purchased the company.
So which of these two Chat Bots is better? Honestly, both of them are great. Chatfuel is more casual and fun, while Phpbay is more business-like and focuses more on the technical and functionalities of their service. That being said, Chatfuel tends to give you more options and choices for customizing your profile page, whereas, Phpbay tends to focus more on their in-house social media marketing tools, including their welcome message and integration with social bookmarking services.
Both of these chat Bots are still in beta and should be considered experimental. Facebook also recently acquired two other bot businesses, SocialMarker and Brandee, in an attempt to compete with their own product, SocialDeck. At the time of this writing, SocialDeck is the only chatbot product that has an official name. As of this writing, neither Facebook nor Phpbay has released any pricing or technical details for their competing products. However, we do know that both of these companies will provide a free initial offering to their users.
A Chatbot service can help streamline your conversations. There are some examples of Chat Bots that can do most of the work for you. Phpbay is the best chat bot for conversation navigation, providing information about recently updated items, creating decks, posting to Facebook, importing files, and adding contacts and groups. Chatfuel is best for posting your items, importing files and converting files, posting groups, and providing FAQs. Chartbuster is another great bot for conversation navigation, able to search the web, post comments and track clicks. These are all the features that you should be looking for in an effective bot for Facebook.
